Aging Out, the song
- by Denise Tucker of Tucker Creations:
In the early hours, one sleepless morning, awakening from arthritic pain in my sixty eight year old body, rattled with anxiety, uncertain about what’s next, the lyrics for my song Aging Out appeared in my head. I’m an artist and words are part of my creative expression. These lyrics express who I was, and who I’ve become. Many doors have closed. People aren’t listening. Staying relevant, making an impact, creating a legacy, appears a bit uncertain today. Feeling fragile, resistant, righteous, and up for the challenge to do what I know to do! My song is timely. I represent the sixty+ age group and we are the most vulnerable. My song Aging Out stands for what’s possible by empowering boldness, greatness, being unconstrained with the resounding finale that I’m not a victim… NOT ME!
The song bridges age gaps by including the raw hip-hop rap element. Rap vocalist, Stevario aka Chris Wind, EMA. Chris was motivated to bring his talent and unique cadence to the project with reverence, respect and personal connection. The mesmerizing and inspiring sound of vocalist, songwriter Ingrid Smith, unstoppable at age 78, knew the song was hers the moment she heard it. Frank Starchak Productions mixed sound, instrumentals and his musical expertise brilliantly creating relatedness to all genders, age and ethnic groups profoundly expressed in both English & Spanish.

I was bold, outspoken & manipulative. Creating art provided the positive attention I desired and the keys to the art closet in High School. Awards, scholarships and sales of my artwork enabled me to leave home and begin
my life’s adventure. For reasons in my control, I took another path for 40 years, until my recent retirement...I’m back creating art and now
I’m unstoppable!
